Meet the team that will represent Kentucky in the “Spectrum News Challenge.”

Salil

High school: duPont Manual High School

Accomplishments: Salil is a member of the “Science Olympiad” and the Academic Team, and is part of the Beta Club and Key Club. He also co-founded a nonprofit, Junior Hands, which helps combat educational inequality.

Fun fact: Salil is a big Golden State Warriors basketball fan.

Shreyas

High school: duPont Manual High School

Accomplishments: Shreyas is the president of the Technology Student Association Club, team captain of his club soccer team, and has won several awards at the “public forum debate competitions” at state and national levels.

Fun fact: Shreyas is the captain of the Robotics Team.

Lauren

High School: duPont Manual High School

Accomplishments: Lauren is a creative writer for her school’s magazine called “One Blue Wall,” takes part in the Quiz Bowl, which has won at the state competition, and plays piano.

Fun fact: Lauren has placed in the top three every year at her school’s science fair.
