After three decades as a high school football coach, Scott Carmony said he’s ready to hang up his whistle.
Carmony announced Monday he is retiring from coaching after spending the past six seasons at Manual.
“I’m one of the lucky ones,” Carmony said. “You get to do something every day that you love in what I think is the greatest game in the world. I got to get paid for a career that I love to do and probably would have done for free. Not many people get to say that. …
“But this is it. I’m done. I always knew Manual was going to be my last job.”

Carmony went 38-25 during six seasons with the Crimsons. His 2021 squad finished 8-4 after a second-round playoff loss to longtime nemesis St. Xavier.
