2019-20 National PTA Reflections Contest
Look Within
National PTA Reflections welcomes all grades and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Annually, thousands of students reflect on a common theme and create original works of art in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography and visual arts. Entries are eligible for school, district, state and even national recognition.
The theme for the 2019-2020 school year is Look Within and the search is on for the 2020-2021 theme, which will be chosen on February 1, 2020. The winner will receive $100 and recognition at the Annual National PTA Convention.
Submissions for the 2019-20 contest are due to the Manual Office by Monday, October 14, 2019 at 9:00 AM. For entry form and rules, visit http://15thdistrictpta.org/programs/reflections/.

Manual alum Hannah Nelms had the following to say about the program:
“The Reflections is a great program that gives students an opportunity to expand upon their artistic horizons through artistic exploration and the setting of goals. Not only is Reflections an artistry aggrandizer, but also a wonderful resume builder. I began participating in the Reflections program my freshman year at Manual, in hopes to just get experience as a choreographer, and possibly be able to enhance my resume for college; however my Reflections experience was far more monumental than just adding a few words onto a resume. Reflections has given me not only a further understanding of goal setting and my artistic vision, but the illustrious opportunity to inspire other young artists. By entering Reflections, you become part of a large artistic community starting in kindergarten all the way through high school. All applicants for Reflections are further invited to an awards ceremony where you are granted the opportunity to view the work of other young artists. Freshman through Junior year I have been auspiciously chosen for first place within the “Dance Choreography” category at Manual, and I will be entering again this year in hopes to inspire more young artists.”
